I had one on my 2005 C6 and liked it so much I ordered the Z06 style for my "07 and am very happy. Both are painted body color. I got mine from Brite Ideas a forum vendor. The quality is excellent, the paint match perfect and the service first class. The increased brightness over the standard third tail light is a safety plus. He now makes a optional plug in module that will cause the light to pulse three times before coming on solid..... you will not be sorry dealing with these great people.
