Default Installing a t-stat...

Just bought a corvette and I wanted to do a coupke minor things to it to bump up my performance but I really do not want to have problems with my warranty.

I already have a VR intake and just bought a t-stat as well.

My question is: will installing the t-stat on its own be ok or do I have to have a tune for it to work properly and be effective. Because my service guy said that a tune might cost me money if i take it in to service and they see my car has been messed with.

Any adivce?

You don't need an tune however you would need someone to adjust your fan to come on early. My fan comes on at 190 instead of the stock 235. It used to run about 215 when stuck in traffic jam, now it is about 180. Having someone adjust your fan should not cost that much since it is about a 3 minute download, a 30 second adjustment on the program and then just upload.

As with most simple bolt-ons, a tune will be ideal, but not necessary. You'll still see some benefit with the stock programming.

fan adjustment isn't required, i have stock setting / no tune and know a few cf members locally that doesn't either. the thing is the second you turn on your ac it will also command the fan to be on also.

no. lower fan settings are done with tuning and it cant be set to 160. you can buy the cartek fan module and it comes on at 181 no tuning needed
