Default Help with !

the check engine light appears, so I hooked up my Diablo Predator to see what is the problem, the device shows the following:
"P0016" Crank Shaft Position - CamShaft Position Correlation - Bank 1
I dunno if this is the Crank Sensor or the Cam Sensor! I changed my cam sensor 2 weeks ago.
if anyone faced this or know how to fix it please post a reply, you'll make my job so easier if you got any pictures of that thing.
BTW.. where it's located?

First of all let me say that I'm not sure what your problem is.

Second of all, check the easy things first - if you just replaced a cam sensor, make sure it's hooked up properly and the wires or connection haven't come loose.

Butt....you may need a "crank relearn" procedure.

Here's a post from the ls1tech.com forum, and it was posted by a guy from EIFLive:
When you perform a CASE (Crank Angle Sensor Error) learn the PCM records the *exact* relationship between the crank teeth and the crank angle sensor - for the current crank/sensor configuration.
It uses that information to detect the small acceleration of the crankshaft at the instant of each firing event. If a firing event does not occur the PCM will not detect the small crank acceleration and will log a misfire.
Note: large cams, rough roads and rough idle can cause false misfire detection.

When the PCM "learns" the crank position sensor error, it writes the learned information to non-volatile memory.
In a new PCM, that memory is blank and it will throw a code immediately indicating that a crank relearn is required.

If you swap your PCM for a PCM that is not new, i.e. one that has already had a relearn done - probably for a different engine, then the PCM does not "know" that the learned information is incorrect for the current engine. Hence it will not log a code to indicate that a relearn is needed.

If you change any part of your engine that effects the relative positioning of the crank to the crank sensor then the learned information will probably no longer be correct. And still the PCM will not know that a relearn is needed.

If the learned information is not correct, the PCM may not be able to detect valid misfires and/or may detect false misfires. P0300 codes

Regards
Paul
So, if you changed the cam sensor, it might need the crank relearn to calibrate everything.

To do the crank relearn you'll need a Tech II at your dealer (or some of the tuner software like HPTuners or EFILive may be able to do it).

Again, I'm not sure whether that's what you need, but I think something like that may be required.

Bob

WOW, that's a lot of useful info Bob thank you so much, I checked the cam sensor twice and all things hooked up well so maybe other sensor causing this, ok.. another question, is the dealer going to re-flash my PCM for that? I dyno tuned my car because of the supercharger and I dont want my dealer to screw things up! I also want them to check my transmission I think there's a serious big problem with it, don't tell me they will re-flash it as well? thanks

"P0016" Crank Shaft Position - CamShaft Position Correlation - Bank 1

I have All Data program for my shop. I checked this code and here's the description "If ECM detects that the timing between the crankshaft and the camshaft is incorrect, DTC P0016 sets."

I cannot copy and paste the whole test procedure because ALL Data program data is protected. I CAN print this out and fax it to you if you want. I'm closing in 15 minutes right now, I will be at my shop tomorrow also.
