Default Elec Water Pump?

05 C6 MN6 Z51

Has anyone installed an elec Water pump? If so did it result in any RHWP gain?

I'm using the Meziere. I installed it along with the ProCharger and Ron Davis radiator all at the same time, so a number on how many horses it freed up is unknown, and I doubt if anyone (except Meziere) has ever done a before and after dyno test on just a water pump. Meziere says 10-12 hp. Who knows? I can say that it works fine and I've have zero issues with it. The good thing is that I have it wired into the accessory mode at the ignition switch, and can run the pump to cool the engine, without being in the car. I can push acc, lock and leave the car, and it will run for approx 20 minutes before it turns itself off.

You must have a really good battery to do that because you are cycling the life out of it my doing that unless you have a deep cycle battery like an Optima Yellow top.

www.ls1howto.com has detailed info and a dyno of the 6-7rwhp gain. They do have a limited life but they do help in hot weather especially down south and stop and go traffic.

I wouldnt get one for gains but 2 advantages not often spoken about is that they definitely help with strength on high tension belts in a FI set-up and the other is that they are one awesome looking dress up for under the hood.

I installed it for the heat here in vegas. I really liked the idea of a pump running at full speed at idle and it helped alot. It dropped my idle temperature in the summer by 40 degrees. Big help, plus my tuner said he liked them because it helped him tune the car without the heat sink.

I like the mod, is it worth the money... If your in a high heat area or have FI Id say yes!

Plus after a comment from spin awhile ago I wired up the fans and the electric water pump to a switch to cool down between runs at the track.

Spin, That's a great site. Almost makes me think that I could do it myself. Thanks Guy.

That alone would make it worthwhile. Looks like that's my next mod.

I'm getting a H/C package next week at CARTEK. I'll ask maybe to do it then.

You all have been a big help Thanks.
