A question I have for others that have installed aftermarket systems is; I noticed a rubber hose (on the passenger side) is very close to the over the axle pipe and was wondering 1) What is this rubber hose and 2) is an inch clearance from this hose adequate or should I look at insulating around it somehow?
I am putting my car up on stands tonight to do some underside maintanance. I have a BB aftermarket system from block to bumper. I will check what this is, and post tomorrow.
I know there have been many aftermarket exhaust installed on the C6 that someone must know theanswer to this question:
I noticed a rubber hose (on the passenger side) is very close to the over the axle pipe and was wondering; (marked 5/8" (looks like a heater core hose) and connects to what appears to be a solenoid) is an inch clearance from this hose to the over the axle exhaust pipe adequate or should I look at insulating around it somehow?
The ONLY 'hoses' near the top of the transaxel in the area where the Bullets go up and over the axel are the emergency brake cables. They run down the center, and right above the center of the trans, they go one to the left, and one to the right.
These are about 1/2" dia. They have cables inside them. They operatate the emergency brake.
I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question...........I have an A6 and I'd bet you have a M6 which would explain why this hose is missing. I believe this may be a vent hose for the A6 but still not sure.
