Awhile back there was a thread about what happens to the speed rating of a repaired tire.
Since I was over in Germany driving the autobahns at up to 170 mph on BFG KDW2s one of which was properly repaired with a plug patch, my personal experience suggests that there's little need to worry about it. Sustained speeds of 120mph were routinely seen, with the occaisional banzai run up to MY comfort level ( not the car- it still wanted more). No evidence of any problem.
Your mileage may vary.

I think I would spend some coin on new tires or driver slower on the patched tire.
no need to. i had a drag radial got a big screw in it on the way to my first corvette challenge. so i went to every corporate tire store, gas station, no one would fix it. we don't do plugs we cant patch that to close to the edge, the tread is to thin. they had every excuse in the book. so after 4 hours of bull i missed the challenge. later that night i went to walmart. bought a plug kit and the different vulcanized plugs and glue. plugged it myself. been on the car for 5,000 miles. at the track 30 runs has never lost one bit of air and you cant even see wear it was done
