I did some mods last winter. Had a tune done by COW (mail order) Car seemed to perform well. I went to Limerock this past Saturday and on the way to the track I noticed the check engine light on. Got home and hooked up the code reader and it showed this:PO171 fuel system lean bank 1 , PO174 fuel system lean bank 2. Any ideas?
Did your mods include headers and or a CAI? As far as I know both those codes are common on cars with headers and or CAI's.
As you can tell they do not affect drivability but they are a pain never the less. You can clear them but expect them to pop up again. Last week Chuck tuned my car and while on that subject he turned off the tests that ultimately throw those codes.
Yes I did both headers and CAI. THe thing that I don't understand is why did it take so long to show a code?
You didnt say if the mods were in place before or after the tune. Those mods directly affect that code and should be in place before a tune. Both of your mods affect long term fuel trends and would show a code if you went +24% positive on them. It is a simple adjustment and Im sure Chuck can do ti quickly.
As for why you get a code after some time has passed is that weather conditions affect breathing for a motor. A leak in the intake tract or a losse bolt on the intake manifold would also cause higher LTFT's. Take it back and have him scan it.

The mods were done before the tune. I guess I need to get the car to see chuck so he can dial it in!
