Default Help!!! removing radiator shroud

I'm trying to in stall my callaway honkor. It took me 30 min to get everything apart, now I have spent the last 3 hour trying to get the f-en radiator shroud out. Step 8 of the instuctions says to "guide the side wings of the radiator shroud around the brackets for the last 2 screws that were removed".

I must be retarded or something but I don't see any way in hell to get the shroud past, over, around that metal bracket at the bottom of the shroud. I've pushed, pulled and everything eles I can think of. Help!

There are two push in pins (or what ever they are called) under the front lower fascia. You have to remove the 8mm head screws and pull down on the fascia to get to these two, one on each side. Once they are removed the flange on the radiator shroud, "baffle" it's called, will slide out from under the metal bracket. Hope this makes sense.

yep, I removed the push pins. The shroud is loose but I just can't get it out. I must be doing something wrong.

you need to remove the 8mm bolts from the bottom and 8 push pins total

The bottom fin of the shroud needs to be pulled out from around the bracket at the bottom (both sides)

I pushed and pulled for the last 5 hours and I can't get the shroud past the bracket.

Did you find those two push/pull pins? The two that keep the flange under the metal bracket are hidden pretty good.

I assume too you got the two push/pull pins in full view from the bottom of the shroud too?

Push the top of the shroud all the way forward, toward the hood. Then the drivers side will be easier, just pull up the bottom corner that is touching the a/c condensor. It will flex enough to bend around the metal bracket that is keeping it from coming off.

The passenger side is harder, there is a ridged tab on the shroud that hooks under the a/c condensor that makes it harder to pull out. It's a combination of pulling the tab out from under the a/c condensor and manipulating the forward side being carefull not to break the temp sensor (unless you were able to remove it). It is a pain, but it comes out.

BTW, it is even harder to put it back.

To recap, these are the parts that should have been removed first:

1) Radiator plate/cover with four 10mm bolts, two on each side that sits on top of the shroud;
2) Four plastic plugs from inside the front grill, two on each side;
3) Two plastic plugs that fasten the shroud to the a/c condensor, one on each side about 2/3rds of the way down;
4) Two 7mm bolts from under the front grill;
5) Remove the hood lamp wire from the passenger side of the shroud, even if you have an '07 there is an empty plug that slides off;
6) Push the shroud forward and there are two more plastic push pins in the center; and
7) Remove the wire to the temp sensor (if you can, remove the temp sensor, I could not get the plug out). This protrudes into the grill so be carefull to pull it out of the hole in the grill when working on the passenger side.

Now you should be able to remove it as explained above. It has to flex either around or through the metal bracket where the 7mm bolts came from.

I got it!!!!!!!! All done and put back together. Should I get new plastic pins/plugs? They seem a little sloppy now. I have to admit that job was harder than I thought it was going to be. I had to bend the hell out of the shroud to get it out. As always thanks for the help

Best directions on this easier said than done removal. Could not have done it without this knowledge.
