Default Kooks + Borla + Honker engine codes

OK - I have instaled the Kooks long headers and x-pipe with the hi-flow cats, Borla Touring back end and Callaway Honker CAI. Car runs and sounds GREAT . Didn't throw the first engine codes till abotu 160 miles, then took a reading and erased them to make sure it wasn't a fluke. The codes came back in just a few miles - 2 each of P0420 & P0430. I figure it is due to the hi-flow catalytics, but before I start tweaking anything I wanted to seek out some opinions.

I have a DiabloSport Predator tuner, but have not yet applied it. This weekend I will also be installing a 160 deg. thermostat, so any opinions on where to set the fan kick in temp is also appreciated.

I look forward to any feedback/experience provided - THANKS!

Did you look up the codes to see where the problem is coming from? Same thing happened to me awhile back and it ended up being a pinched 02 wire extension.

Those codes are not due to any error on your install. Both of those codes are common on cars with modified exhausts (you can google them 1 at a time to see the results).

They may eventually go away or you can clear them with an OBDII scanner (must be CAN enabled) and see if they return.

A better option would be to visit a tuner who can turn off the computer from running the tests that cause those codes. I'm not sure if you can turn off the tests with the DiabloSport Predator but I'm sure someone can answer that question.

if you are getting p420 & p430, you don't have any o2 wiring problems. the hi flow cats just are not as good as factory cats that is why you are getting cat inefficient codes. i also got those codes too when i first installed my off road kooks, and end up just using o2 sims to get rid of them. your diablo predator already has it program out, at least that is what i was told when i looked into getting it to solve my p420 & p430 codes.
