Has anyone ever have an issue with the DTE diff?
The reason I asked is becauce Mine just blew up.
I broke in the diff as I was told to, The diff only lasted about two weeks. I never even got a chance to launch the car.
There was no wheel hop, and I didn't do any brake stands.
I was leaving a set of light and gave it a quick WOT and KABOOOOM
The shop that I'm dealing with has talk to them.
I never heard of this happening before. It just suck that the car
will be down for the month of july.

ALL tuners and vendors can have a bad peice here and there. How they handle a failure is what separates the good ones from the bad ones. I am willing to bet when you call them, they will have a solution that will be acceptable to all parties.
Dont judge a vendor by a single occurance. Diffs are made using returned cores or new GM parts and both can fail. A bad GM core can be as common as a failure from a part that you dont know the history of.
The last point is that when modding a car, there are no guaranties. A modded car takes abuse and rear diff failure is often the result of normal usage so expecting to mod and never have a failure is just bad reasoning. Be it 3 years or one day, a part can fail on a modded car and it can be at no fault of the vendor especially on a 2005.
Good luck with the repair and I bet in the end, this part failure will result in a proffessionally handled experience making people want to deal with DTE.
Man, that's a real bummer, esp in the middle of the summer months. I'll be interested to hear which part or parts actually failed. I can't speak for DTE, but my guess is that their warranty coverage is based on that. What "stage" was your 4.10 diff?
I just put in a new carrier w / 4:10s yesterday at Westchester Corvette. The one thing I really liked was the way they build the cores and beef up the internals. (used cores)
I would say you just got a bad unit and unfortunately that happens from time to time. Over time it becomes impossible to be 100% the more product you get on the road.
It's a bummer this time of the year.
I apologize if this seems like a silly question, but are you sure the differential broke or could it have been a halfshaft? Have you been able to look at the unit and confirm the failure is in the differential/case?
The aluminum case is probably the weak link. It's just an aluminum casting. I heard a steel part was in development, but all that does is transition the weak link somewhere else. No one ever said speed comes cheap.

Sorry about your troubles really sux..6 months of driving with chucks 4.10 rear and lots of heavy gear bangin, no issues. Proper break in a must. 425 rwhp here and it's still holding up..Your rear failure is unfortunate, your shop should make good based on your post..Good luck..

Well its coming up on 2 weeks now and my car is still in my garage.
Very disappointed, This was the most I have ever spent on the car, doing the clutch and gears. I don't think I'll even get to drive my car this summer. Just about to cry.

That's a strong possibility, and the steel/iron case will add some weight (and even more cost) as well.
But if one does go with the new case and also addresses some of those other potential 'weak link' areas then it could make for a pretty strong Corvette rear for those adding serious power.

We don't even have your differential here, nor have we ever received a phone call from you to date about anything..??? I suggest that you call the office Monday to give us the information about this, rather than coming here online, without filling us in first on what's happening or giving us a chance to reply to anything.
We can't assist if we don't even know what's going on...

Well, it looks like whoever did your install has dropped the ball wrt contacting DTE about this. btw, who did the install? I don't believe it's mentioned anywhere on this thread.
