Default Predator - HELP!!! My vette is comatose!!!

OK - here is the sad story - installed Kooks long tunes, x-pipe with hi-flow cats, borla back end, callaway honker CAI, 160 deg.thermostat - all ran great, but started throwing o2 effeiceincy codes (P0420, P0430) - no big surprise. Was using a Diablo Predator to modify the fan settings and turn off the o2 codes in the Diablo minor mod tune - HERE IS THE PROBLEM - about 3/4 of the way thru the tune upload, the accessory "on" timed out (ARGHH!!!) and interupted the upload - now the Predator won't write to the computer, car won't start, original back-up tune won't upload - OBDII code = P0100 - failure to communicate w/ECM/PCM. ECM fuse checks out, but from there I am stuck.

Any ideas are appreciated.

I'll stick with HP Tuners and my laptop. HP Tuners is an even sweeter product. And I have had a Predator for my C5

Be careful when programming the flash memory on any computer (car or home). It is also possible that the cars flash ROM can be corrupted. Meaning its unable to be written to! I am not saying that is the case but I definitely wont rule it out.

Don't blame the Predator. All reflash tools say DO NOT let the power go off during upload. That's what happened here. The accessory mode is only good for what, 10 minutes or so, then it powers down. Not like the old days when the key was in acssy it stayed powered up.

So the real question, what do you have to do to keep the car from timing out?

Also, I've read that the C6 ECM is protected and no matter what do not pull the fuse after an aborted attempt like this. Then you can just get the code from Diablo and redo it.

On an 05, you can just turn off the engine without putting it in reverse. I don't know how you would on an 06-08. That reverse lockout is good for something at least.

But he should have been able to flash it in much shorter time than 10 minutes. No matter what he was using.

So - here is an update - sorry I haven't been back sooner.
The tool (Predator) is cool - alot of neat things you can do with it, and not at fault with my issue. I didn't realize that even with a "hard" switch into accessory mode, the C6 will "time out" (power off) after ~ 20 minutes - plenty of time to do any tune backup or upload, but that time can fly by if you are fiddling with a bunch of settings (like %fan power/@temp settings for the fan)!
Two definate no-no's with ANY tuner: 1) don't unplug it form the OBDII port mid-tune (obvious, I know, but I've seen an OBDII plug fall out if not seated or you catch a foot on it); 2) don't power down mid-tune.
There is a work around - haven't tried myself yet - press the bottom half of the start switch (as you would to go into access. mode) BUT hold it for 5 - 10 seconds and it should put you into "on" mode without starting the engine. This should defeat the time out.
My PCM is being re-flashed to get me back to ground zero and thsi should fix me up.
DiabloSport - particularly, Mike Litsch and Brian in the RMA dept. have been OUTSTANDING in their support and assistance here - including phone support in the middle of Mike's Sunday
Live and learn, gentlemen and ladies! We don't drive this cars 'cause we are faint of heart! I will be zooming along again shortly! In the meatime, it is great HOG ridin' weather here in MD

Set your 192* at 20% or less, otherwise the fan wont shut off. Increase your percentages progressively thruogh the higher temps.

It took me about 4-5 minutes from the time I put the car in acsry to turning off the key after the program uploaded. And I was going slowly to make sure I did it right. That was about the time the old Hypertechs took on my T/As as well.
