The guys who nixed the nice ZF transmission you liked so much in the C4 are the same guys who took out the genuine HomeLink from the 3LT package and put in a generic semi-equivalent, that takes a Microsoft-style technician several hours to program. 
Re Royal Purple Synchromax - it is a light purple in color, so even some dealership types could tell the difference. Therefor you may want to switch back to bright red Dexron IV ATF before you go in for warranty work.
