Default Headers and Codes?

I am thinking of installing headers with the stock mufflers on my '07 Convertible. Any of the header and performance cats that will not throw codes without "tuning" the car.

there is no guarantee when it comes to hi flow cats. one thing is for sure, they don't last as long as stock cats. in my c5 i went throught 2 sets of hi flows cats. you may get p420 & p430 right away or it may be a while before it shows up.

How do you know if the car is throwing a code? Will you see it on the dash/DIC?

Yes, the CEL (check engine light) will come on.

I can only speak on my experience with Melrose coated headers and high flow cats along with Magnaflow cat backs and no codes. Great fit and great sound also.

I'm running LG's without the cat, and I'm throwing the rear O2 codes. I'm getting the car tuned, so I'm not worrying about it.

The CEL/Codes really shouldn't matter to you either. I think that anyone who adds headers to the car should get it tuned. It's worth the money to make sure that your car is taking full advantage of it's new set of lungs.

My American Racing headers with cats didn't throw codes, my friends LG pros with cats did. Both on 07 Z06's.

My kooks with high flow cats and stingers have not thrown a code yet. I've had this setup for about 3 or 4 months and have put about 3k miles on it.
