Means no cables... The vette has a "drive by wire" throttle. Its electronically controlled.

Drive by wire is crap I.M.O ~In the Mercedes you hit the gas and there's no response for almost a second, or it seems that way anyway. Some have mastered it with a good tune like in the Mustang. I'd rather have the regular cable, not this computer crap.

It means that your right foot doesn't control the throttle, a computer does. There is no direct, mechanical connection between your right foot and the amount of throttle opening. The throttle position you use (floored?) isn't the throttle position the computer uses. In your best interest, of course.

I believe that Mercedes is already testing brake by wire. Steering will be coming. If Boeing and Airbus can make an entire plane fly by wire then cars will go that way as well.

Drive by wire has such a poor response that the Corvette has become one of the fastest cars in the world on a track. And people complain about it all the time.... NOT!
