Default Future Corvette Owner with Question

Looking to purchase my first Corvette in the next few months and I have a question concerning chassis flex. I've owned a few different convertible Mustangs and all have benefited from chasis reinforcement mods. With the C6 being a targa top I imagine there is some chassis flex although probably not as much as the Stangs I've owned.

So the question I have is will the C6 benefit from chassis mods and if so what is available???

Thanks in advance

Jim

I put a 1/4" aluminum tunnel plate between the rails, replacing the stock plate, and it seems to have eliminated virtually all creaks and groans from the car going up my very curvy and off camber driveway.I never really noticed any flex on the road but after putting in the thicker plate handling was noticeably improved. If I had to do it again,I would probably get the 3/8" thick plate.Mine is from Elite Engineering, and I am very pleased with the quality and service they offer.

Thanks!!! Elite Engineering, I'll have to check them out.

Edit: Just checked out their site and that looks like the way to go, I also like the frame rails too!!!

Not much in common between a unit body convertible like the Mustang and a body on frame like the 'Vette. Unit bodies need all the help they can get, body on frame is rigid to begin with.

Hey, I had a 99 & now have an 06. I take my roof off every time I get a chance. Zero body flex. The only down side is when I get above 80 my hat wants to fly off. It ain't a Mustang.
