Rotten Odor
. We got some of the smell out but there is still a deffinate funk in there. We changed the carpets and have order new floor mats and sprayed many things in there. Any other suggestions?!
Shampoo the fabrics with a steam cleaner and simple green (or some other soap), then febreeze the bejesus out of it. Also, clean all vinyl and leather surfaces with a leather cleaner.
Had a problem at the house where one of my wife's cats (spiteful little bastard) urinated on the carpet in an unused bedroom in the house. I used Urine Off, steam cleaner, simple green, some industrial carpet shampoos, you name it (cleaned both sides of the carpet and the carpet padding too...). I could still smell it a bit. I left the window open a crack, febreezed regularly and left a fan blowing and now, no odor at all.
Some other things you can do:
Put a coffee can full of uncooked rice in the car. Supposed to absorb odors.
Put a coffee can full of unused coffee grounds in for the same reason.
Try any of the above for a while and then leave the windows down as frequently as possible to continually change the air in the car. If you have a garage, park in garage with windows down and put a fan near the windows, blowing into the back on an angle to get circulation through the entire car, just not through the two windows. Should work fine.
