On Star upgrade question

Does anyone know what's invloved when the dealer upgrades the OnStar from analog to digital? Specifically...?

1). Do they need to go into the dash or is it all at the upper windshield?

2). Do they need to load software?

3). If yes to above, I'm concerned about losing my dyno tune.

The OnStar module (VCIM) is under the carpet inside the right rear storage compartment. The only programming needed activates the VCIM. Your custom tune is not touched.
