What heads for the LS7???
So I'm building a new LS7 to replace my LS2. Rotating assy. should be complete in a few weeks. Now I need heads. Looking for something reasonably priced that perform extremly well.
New LS7 heads cost around 2600 + 500 for valve springs and retainers
New ETP heads cost approx. 3000 + 220 for LS7 rockers?
World Products also has new heads that are reasonably price, but flow numbers are unknown...
From what I see there is a modest increase in flow with the ETP's. Will a slightly cleaned up set of LS7 heads outperform them?
Any suggestions good bad or indifferent?

It would be interesting to see the results of the other heads mentioned.

I think the stock LS7 heads flow about 330CFM @ 591, if memory serves.

At what point does the LS7 intake manifold become the limiting factor? Does it make sense to try and get the intake port flowing 400 CFM if the intake can't keep up?

I just found a PDF of the LS7 article in Feb 2006 Hot Rod magazine.
They quote 360CF @ .600.

See my first reply - I found the stock LS7 numbers.

Looks like the stock head flow pretty well. I wonder what the increase in power would be by uping the flow 40 CFM on the intake side?
Is it worth the cost of ported heads? Is it going to make the difference between making 550 RWHP to 575 RWHP?
My budget is shot to hell....

What flow numbers and advantage should they offer over the GM LS7 heads?

Interesting - what was the reason you went with the All Pro heads? So these are 12 degree heads then? Were you quoted a specific advantage by going with these heads?

the deck is thicker on the All Pros than the LS7 heads. I didn't want the heads to start lifting off when the motor was under heavy boost.

I could be wrong but I think they use All Pros on NA set ups as well. Were you considering ETP heads?

I am looking at options.
Can you run stock rockers with the All Pro's?
Do you know if the exhaust ports are in the same location for header fit? Also accessory bolt holes?
What intake are you running with these?

I sent you a pm. I'm using a LS7 intake with these heads.

When I was looking around to build my nast NA LS7, I didnt get many concrete answers from the many head vendors about specific flow, hp and performance advantages over ported GM LS7 heads, so I went with LS7 block, heads and intake.
The motor is complete, and going in at this time. SHold be done in a few days.
