Default Rocker Arm Bearing Failure

So i had a cam installed with springs, rods etc... This was 3 days ago and today the rocker arm basically fell apart on the way home. Has this happened to anyone else before? My car only has 26k miles on it...kinda strange for such low miles.

Yours is not an isolated case. The bearing cages come to GM already assembled. It is the vendors problem, according to bearmans. Check you magnetic drain plug for debris.

You can send those stock rockers to Harland Sharp and they will beef them up for those new springs, I think it runs about 250.00

Sorry for your loss. But people really have to think before running out and adding to this or any engine internals. It's a whole package, and you have to treat it like that, so if you beef up one part, you really need to beef up the rest to go along with it. People can get lucky, and some don't. Unfortunately, you didn't... I'm only saying this so others dont have bad luck too....

If it was a stock rocker arm and there have been roller bearing cages come apart with stock cams and valve gear, isn't there a chance the failure had nothing to do with the cam swap?

Or coil bind could put a higher than design load on the bearings and cause the rocker to fail. (read your other post) Hang in there.

I have used Crane Gold Race rockers ( the "kit") in my C6 for 8,500 miles with no issues. I have the stock cam, though.

I think that these were OEM on the high-output '96 Vette. Of course, this was a pre-LS1 application but they worked quite well.

Yes i believe thats correct, i had a 96' w/ LT4 and i remember there being a recall for rockers and they were changed to a better rocker part (i had the recall done to mine).
