Installing Kooks LT's and cats Tuesday in my C6 Z51.
Are there any heat related concerns I should address such as plug wires, starter etc. As always any advice is appreciated!

None. Just make sure you route the O2 extensions away from the headers. Other than that, everything fits in good and you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck and cheers!

Might want to consider changing out the OE tunnel plate (cheap galvanized sheet steel) at the same time for a thicker ceramic coated one...big reduction in console/interior heat radiating through the floor and console...heres a link...

Thanks for the replies.
The tunnel plate might be a good idea.
The console already gets very hot so I will look into it.

The tunnel plate was one of the best mods I made. Cuts heat in the console alot. Still warm but before it was an oven.

Another mod that makes sense is the ceramic coated, stainless steel "starter heat shield." Made by Lingenfelters...

Also think about 'socks' for wiring around the headers, not an absolute as I dont have them but other recommend them.

If you keep the stock tunnel plate my car had a hole drilled so that the wires for the kooks were fed above the tunnel plate and dropped through the hole to the rear o2 sensors.

Hight temp nylon ties are good for keeping wires away from the heat.

Again I kept the stocker tunnel plate and yes its warm however living in Southern Nevada with really hot temperatures the AC keeps the car plenty cool and its not like its hot enought to bake a potato.
