Default 08 thermostat

I want to change the thermo to 160 but I want to know if bleeding the cooling system is diff than the 06. I would just drain the system and put in thermo and then leave cap off and heat up engine and rev it to 3000 over and over to get air out that's what the older C5 or early C6 is that still the same. Anyone have directions yet or should i go to dealer for instructions on his computer.

The 08 service manual says -
fill the tank to the full mark - let sit and slowly drain in with cap off.
start and idle engine for 4 minutes - add more as needed.
then run engine for 2 minutes between 2000 and 2500 - add more.
then return to idle and adjust level again to full mark while idling.

I would then let is sit overnight with the cap loose and see if it needs another top off in the morning. Some cars that have a stubborn air pocket, you can jack up the front and let it sit for a while with the front up.

I had no problem with mine. Let it run with the cap off, so that any air will escape. Now it runs over 20 degrees cooler.
