...ust picked up a GM WBD. Any tips for the install?
It is pretty straight forward. If you have any questions, you can PM me with a number and I will call you. I didn't use the template to cut the carpet because I had my carpet out installing insulation. Getting the speaker panel out can be a challenge. The wires are short and getting the clips on the plug wasn't easy. I wound up removing the grill, then the speaker to get to the plug. Not a big deal, just took time.
It made a difference for me. I suppose that one who has the requisite tools and know how could make one - it isn't rocket science. I would rather get the GM one.....and did
The installation was actually very easy. The first side took 30 minutes and the second took almost five. My girlfriend purchased it for my birthday. It works quite well in reducing the wind noise and airflow in the cabin with the windows up.

Thanks for the follow up. It's sounding good. What do you do with the windscreen when it's not up? How long does it take to put in place?
I've got coupe, and the wind tubulence swirling around in the hatch area with the top off is ridiculous when you are over 30 mph. I've been thinking about buying one of these and seeing if I could somehow retro fit it to fit in a coupe. Any thoughts?
I think there would be a big market with coupe owners for something like this. right now the only option is to buy this thing that props the hatch open, so the air can escape out the back, but that looks stupid.
question, did you take out the seats for this, i just ordered the gm wind breaker and am trying to see how you did it, so that i can do it as quick as you did

It is not the best system. Mine spun as well and I just left it that way without any problems. To have a better fit, you would have to open up the hole, tap it and screw in an over sized bolt, insert some kind of threaded bushing or weld it solid, drill and tap. None are optimum.

it looks like you just put back the plastic screw in?
also where did you hook up the wires for the power top?
have you had any trouble with it becoming loose?
in the instructions it says to remove the 30 torx screw and i knew i was in dutch when all i had was the plastic screw
now the funny part was i had no problem with the speakers i just laid it over to the rear after i removed all the screws and such and took a small screwdriver and removed the clip that go into the speaker,
