Default Another 2007 A6 Shifting Problem

(Updates throughout thread)

Well, I put a little of this in another thread, but decided to start a new one since it's a little different...

My 2007 with only 1500 miles is acting up the past 2 days. With a warm transmission, if I shift to Park for any length of time (30 secs - 2 mins - etc) and then shift back to "S", the tranny slips when I give it gas then bangs into 2nd. Once rolling, it will not shift to 1st, no matter what the indicator says. Also, it holds onto 2nd and the paddles won't shift to 3rd if under load. I have to repeatedly try to shift after backing off gas, then it will shift normally to higher gears, but still won't shift to 1st.

I checked trans temp during all this and it was normal. And unlike others, I've gotten no service engine lights. In "D", it won't shift to 1st either. I haven't had this happen when first driving the car, either overnight or after all day at work. Just when stopping briefly to get the mail or dropping off a friend.

So, calling dealer tomorrow. Will keep you informed, but very disappointing. I have not abused the car, and again... only 1500 miles!

Getting cranky...

My tranny on my 06 went at 1500 miles with no sign. One day it was fine, the next day (last July 4th) it crapped out. Take it in right away!

Update...

I wasn't able to write down the code #'s, but they did find a selnoid problem related to the valve body. They are ordering a new selnoid AND valve body from the factory. Car will be out 4-5 days but maybe I'll see overall improvements like some of the other guys!

I'll give more details once I have them...

Yes, they have an Enterprise office onsite. I have a brand new crew cab Silverado... Not bad, I can run some "truck" errands this weekend since usually the C6 is my only car.

Do it 007! Use that damn truck till the tires are worn! Get something out of this. Hope that takes care of the problem. Good luck!

Default 2007 Transmission Slippage.

I read your problem with your vette and it sounds almost the same as mine. At between 800 and 1500 miles I've had seloind #4 fail. They have replaced the following:

1-24236927 Seal Kit 4.005
1-24238968 Valve 4.265
1-24232240 Body 4.265
10-88861003 Fluid 8.800

After the repairs were made I put about 100 miles on the car when the following happened. I had throttled up to pass another vehicle and when I let off on the gas and then resumed acceleration, the transmission slipped and I had nothing. I finally got the car home and was able to take it to the dealership were they are getting all kinds of PCM and BCM codes, and seloind #4 failed again.
If you feel you are not getting enough satisfaction call this number in Michigan, GM's Customer Assistance Center 1-866-790-5700, when they got envolved, my parts were dropped shipped overnight. These people will call the dealer and stay on them to the end, assisting any way they could to keep you satisfied.
My problem has not been resolved yet, but I have my fingers crossed that they determine what is causing this to happen?
I will post the results of their analysis when I receive them, which sould be tuesday, 8/14/2007

Update #3...

Ok Fran, I've got the same code as you: P0751 - Valve Shift Solenoid Stuck Off. GM has sent them a new valve body which houses the shift solenoid. I am happy with the service of the dealer so far, but man it will be over a week before I get my car back!! Did they tell you why they replaced the tranny instead of just the valve body? Now I am worried...

Vette... sorry you are in the same boat. This is ridiculous on these new cars... very frustrating!

007,
Service mngr. talked to GM area rep when he found out that 2 of the parts would not be in for 2 weeks!!! That would mean that IF this was the problem I would be without my car for a minimum of 3 weeks. GM rep agreed that under the circumstances he agreed that dealer order a new trans (read:REMANUFACTURED, a whole 'nuther load a crap!) and install instead. So MHO is don't worry yet if all your parts are in. Heard from another brother that his has worked out fine and is shifting better than ever. I forgot to mention that my remanufactured unit is working great. I have a leak but am bringing it back to dealer after my headers, hiflow cats and cat back Corsa Sports are installed this week. Keep the faith!!
Of course sorry for your trouble as well and I hope all goes well. Keep us posted.
Fran

UPDATE #666

Well, they put it all together yesterday to have ready by 5pm... and during test drive found it still wasn't right. I talked to the GM/Director and he said they will call the GM Rep on Monday. Monday, for those that are counting, will be 12 days without my car. Even the GM mentioned the word "Lemon", if things continue to go badly. So now I have to wait on regional rep... but I told him that a remanufactured tranny after 1500 miles would NOT create a happy customer or situation.

There are a couple other issues that I haven't mentioned on the forum either, but the whole thing is just very bad. I am going to reserve further comment pending the outcome... in case we get letigious. I certainly hope they can offer a satisfactory solution.

007,
Man I was pullin' for good results for you. Sorry about that. Same on my side also, I will still hold out faith till the fat lady sings. Headers, hi-flow cats and Corsa sports are in as of Thursday and it's the best mod ever!!! Next week it's back to the dealer to see if they can fix this damn leak. As I mentioned earlier, I will be with the Service tech, the service manager, and the trans mechanic with the car on the lift to reveiw/plan for next move. Same on this side also with the Remanufactured trans. I was told I was going to get a new trans! Don't you just love this play on words? What
LOL on the update 666. At least we still have a sense of humor! Just hope it holds out! Good luck
Fran

Ugh... day 12 just passed. The GM regional rep didn't call the dealer back today.

Yeah, I know there are worse things happening in the world, but geez... I miss my car! I'm afraid tomorrow I must start the more serious track with them. Totally unacceptable!

Keep the faith 007! Keep after them and when you blow your cork you will have a good reason and IMHO they will take it seriously and fix it as fast as possible. Seems you have been very patient as I have been. I will wait a while longer as well..... Then the fat lady appears! I hate to say it but what other choice do we have when dealing with this sort of situation? For whatever it's worth I think you are dealing with this in the proper manner so far. We're pullin' for you!

Clearly I would say that you probably caused a problem by missing a shift somewhere and screwing up the transmission. Were you looking for the clutch or something?

Just kidding, fella! (BTW we're coworkers so he'll bust my chops for this soon enough)

Got my fingers crossed for ya... please keep us in the loop on how things go and whether the dealership takes care of you...
