Factory Shocks: Base vs Z06
I have an 05 base model with 28K miles. Just put on new tires and like the "new ride" feel again.
Looking for anyone who has installed Z06 shocks on a base model to get comments on ride quality.
Fred Beans has them at $211.

I've been looking at those also.
Bilstein sports at $299 (shipped) are the best that I've found.
Z06 shocks at $211 (plus $30 shipping) (fred bean) is the best I've found also.
Hmmmm, I think I just convinced myself that the Bilstein sports are a pretty good deal!

I put Bilstien HD's on my base C6 w/Z51 sway bars (ala Shopdog
) and it really improved handling and it substantially firmed up the ride . The Sports are said to be stiffer than the HD's, if true then I'm glad I didn't get the Sports. There's too many washboard freeways and repaired asphalt streets in my area to have to live with an overly stiff car. Ride and handling are now great, but (for my taste) anything stiffer and it starts to enter the point of diminishing returns . YMMV.
