Default Am I stuck with ls2 edit???

My car has been tuned with ls2 edit from teh beginning however I want to start tuning it myself from here on out. My first tuner used ls2 edit and lost my factory tune but loaded a stock c6 tune...still not my tune technically. Luckily, MTI used ls2 edit as well and didnt have any problems tuning my car (btw...i am happing with MTI's tuning abilities).

Its my understanding/experience no other tuning software i.e. efi live/hp tuners will be able to communicate TCM/PCM.

Is ls2edit the software i have to buy now for tuning??? It doesnt seem as user friendly or more supported as say hptuners.

I originally had my C5 tuned with LS1edit but just last weekend I had some changes made and my friend used HP Tuners for it.

So I would imagine the same would be true for you.

LS2 Edit is different. Even the dealer can'y flash over it. (Unless it has changed since I used it)
That's one reason I changed over to HP Tuners.

i think you are right...

I hate to have to buy ls2-edit for tuning. It just looks inferior to hptuners in terms of useability and options.

Andy is correct to this day even the dealers solution to LS2 edit is replacing the pcm I have done it a few times so that I could run HPtuners on a car.

So how does this process work? Whats the cost? Do i need to replace the TCM as well?

With me having a cam, headers..does this create even more difficulty?

I wonder why some tuners still use ls2 edit? Perhaps to lock them in with their services???

The current LS2 Edit has the ability to lock or not. GM can flash a LS2 Edit tuned car if the unlock option was chosen when it was tuned.

I can't remember which update covered this but the first versions of LS2 Edit would lock it completely.
