Hey guys just wanted to pass along some info I saw this morning posted on another forum. I pasted from the forum's page. enjoy...

My results are in. Not as good as you! Best I could muster up was a 12.564 @ 112.98 mph. And this is with my 2.73 and had the fuse pulled opening the butterflies at launch. Don't know how you did it in this heat. My car thermometer read 90* on the first pass and 87* on the second. I believe you said 83*. Not much difference there. Did you do something to cool the intake. I was reading 109* IAT on my coolest pass after letting it cool for over an hour with hood open. Timing advance at launch was as low as 18*. Up to 24* by the lights at 97* IAT. This 160 tstat isn't doing much for me without setting the fan to run faster at a lower temp. I saw up to 203* engine temp.

With this tight converter and TM it took me 1.968 seconds to get from launch to peak torque of 4400 rpm. Lot of wasted time.

Traction was good. No detectable problem there. 3360# race weight.

Track was so crowded all I got was two passes. Might mention the first pass was a 12.80 @ 113.16 mph. IAT was 131* on that pass. Max. timing I recorded that pass was 22.5*. 16-18* or so at launch.

So what are we really looking at, with cool weather and more experience by drivers another .5 seconds maybe? So that puts it about .2 below the fastest ls2 stock. That's a pretty good improvement, nice new motor.

Still slower than my mod's, hopefully they bump it up in another year or two. If I can convince myself NOT to install a SC, I may trade up then.

i don't even think that .5 maybe .4 so its still a good low 12.0s car. of course their could be an occasional 11.9s. but most will drive in the best conditions 12.4s

Now, we just need a Z51 manual and a Base manual LS3 to get to the track and we have all 4 tranny variations accounted for

Of course, then we need NPP and non-NPP exhausts.

Wait until fall, 50-60 degree temps, and the #s should come down a bit.

Get a -1500 to -2000 DA day in the winter and maybe some new records.

It should be fun to discuss.
