Idle Problems Help Help Help Help
I tried to search for this problem, but was unsuccessful. Here goes...
Everytime i start my car (cold start), the car is fine. After about 2-4 minutes of waiting for the car to "warm" up, I put it in reverse and back up. As soon as I put the clutch in to put it in first as I am rolling back, the rpms drop so low, sometimes stalling the car, and the power steering stops. So...reversing..car moving backwards, i put clutch in, clutch depressed and using break to slow reverse, then rpms drop.
Same problem, different scenario... I am coming to a stop light. i'm in 2nd gear. I approact light, depress clutch, as soon as i put the clutch in, the rpms drop so low power steering goes out, sometimes stalls. These problems happen more frequent with a/c on. but happens without a/c on too. Usually hot outside, but tonight was 62 out and I stalled coming to a light (car still moving). Very weird.
Hot starts: I have press the accelerator a little when i press the turn on button. if i dont, sometimes the car doesn't start, or it is embarrassing to hear my car "try" to start. so i give it a little gas to ensure start up.
Please help. here is my setup...
06 couple manual. melrose lt headers, haltech cai, route 66 exhaust, comp cam 228/232 114lsa (i think .588/.595).
any help would be great. thanks in advance.
If you are stock I'd unhook the battery or pull the PCM fuse so it will do an idle relearn. Also, have you checked your air filters lately to be sure they are clean?Do you have a cam? If so sounds like you need to increase base running airflow. That's what happens to cammed cars until you get the base running airflow dialed in.
