Default LSX block ? ?

Excuse my ignorance but will c6 zo6 heads and intake fit on this block? Also, would it make around the same power as a z06?

according to GM any LS series head will fit the LSX block. I assume the intake would also work. If you used LS7 components to build the motor It should make the same power.

Stock displacement - yes, however this block is capable of 481ci, 511ci with a deck spacer. It is iron not aluminum, so expect an extra 120lbs on the front of your car. You woul dbe better off with a Warhawk, which can take you to 471ci in a vette unless you are expecting to make over 1500hp for drag racing only. BUt then again a F-body, woiuld be a better choice for that as well. IMO.

Yes all LS Series componets such as heads and crankshfts work with this block. Several configurations will use parts for certain car models.

Depending on your application the horsepower between any of the blocks would be similar. It's whe you get to a more radical program you would see an improvement with the LSX block over the aluminum blocks.
Of course that comes at a price, well I should way a weight increase.
The LSX Block is also the lower cost of all the performance blocks offered. Again the aluminum also comes at a cost, literally LOL

I would think that anything over 600 ft pounds in torque would start to see the benifit of the LSX Block. It's a very very sturdy piece.

If you want AL and strength beyond the LSX for extreme HP builds, especially FI with large boost#'s, Dart makes one of the toughest blocks/heads around, but it is overkill for all but the most extreme builds.

I disagree, none of the Aluminum blocks are "beyond" the strength of the GM Performance Parts LSX block.

I would have to clarify in saying I agree that it does not exceed the strength, but is comparable & lighter. The LSX block is strong as heck.
