I had a dyno tune done at 21st century muscle cars. They tweaked my torque mgt a bit. It helped the firmness of the shifting, and also really helped my paddle response, especially in downshifting.. It's pretty quick to downshift now..
Jimman,
I understood on some previous threads that a good tuner can do as Mainagent and Norty suggest. I am having my '07 A6 w/paddles, Kooks, hi-flow cats and Corsa Sports tuned this Wednesday at Speed Incorpoated out of Schaumburg ,Ill. and have requested this additional "tune" for the trans. Will post my before and after dynos and results if any on the trans later this week. Good luck on your investigation!
Fran
I thought I heard that GM had a software "fix" scheduled to be released in September. Someone else told me they were available now. When I had my A6, the dealer knew nothing about it (in July). I liked the paddles up to a point. But, after more than 40 years of driving stick shifts, I traded it in for the manual, due to the "lag."

I asked my dealer last week about being able to back-date any shift improvments in the '08 to my '06. The service people said that updates were controlled by the VIN which is read during any programing and that unless the update is "attached" to my VIN series there is no way to install it -- at the dealer. I hope GM decides to allow the update for all A6s. If not, perhaps a turner can find the new code and transfer it to older models.
Perry, you didn't just change to a manual. If I recall you moved to a Z06, right? I'm hoping my A6 makes me that mad one day, too.
