Advantage Base & Z 6 speed
The gearing is closer through all the gears with the Base tranny
Keeping you in the power band better.
And with the Z-51 being stiff in the rear.
I think the faster set for the Strip or on the roll down especially. Goes to the base car. 2nd though 5th they are closer and 6th is the better gas gear to boot Since neither tranny makes top end in 6th anyway

z-51 vs base
ratio diff ratio diff
1st 2.97 2.66
2nd 2.07 .90 1.78 .88
3rd 1.43 .64 1.30 .48
4th 1.00 .43 1.00 .30
5th .71 .29 .75 .25
6th .57 .50

The actual reason we Z51 guys don't have a big advantage in the 1/4 is now we have to shift out of 3rd well before the end of the track, while the non-Z guys shouldn't have to shift if they are stock.

I was thinking since the ratio's of the gears in the base 6
are closer it would accellarate better though the gears.
I guess the perfect combo would be base with 4.11's or 3.73's in nthe rear.
