Default Anyone blown their C6 engine?

I've had pretty good luck with GM engines, even after putting high mileage on them never had a problem. Just wondering about the LS2?

We'll...sorta...had a couple rings crack. Just a valid excuse, to the wife, to fully build a 402

I know of a few Z06's that have had oil pump failures.

With the rev limiter, I think its almost impossible.
Of course, maybe I'm wrong.

I could go throw a tank of 87 in and nuke mine right now.

No you can't. It's designed to run on 87 or 92. There is a low octane timing table that the computer reverts to when coming across cheap skates and bad gas. Now, if you threw 87 in, towed, and spun it up to 6000 in 105° heat...

no! it would nuke. Just the difference in 93 vs. 91 on the dyno with the blower was not good. kaboom

The rev limiter only protect you on up shifts. If you shift out of third at redline and accidently hit second instead of fourth you will probably have a blown engine or at least some very serious damage. To answer the OP's question the LS2 is mostly bulletproof unless you or your tuner does something stupid.

That's called a ****ty tuner. Give me 5 minutes with 100 octane in your car and I'll give you a tune that'll blow that **** sky high if you'd like. Funny how cars out put over 800rwhp down on 91 octane and are daily drivers.

The A6 won't let you downshift unless you are within specified RPMs.

Great.

I was speaking of the Mn6, clearly you're not going to accidently shift from redline 3rd gear to 2nd with an automatic.
