Hi all, I know recently there was a few posts regarding having '08 A6 shift parameters uploaded to a '07 resulting in smoother more responsive shifts..........any update?, hitting the rev limiter all the time is getting old...........Thank You for Your help!
I enquired a mech. about that and was told that it's not just programming thats different for the new A6, but some internal stuff as well and the programming alone won't change anything. I'm getting frustrated over the aftermarket's lack of interest in producting anything for this tranny as well, no shift kit, no TM programming removal,no decent torque converter. Maybe I should've just went with the A4 instead. At least, from recent news I've heard, GM used the C6 as a test bed to see if the A6 would hold up to the HP/TQ produced and have been watching as people mod these cars to see if the tranny has any issues with the extra power for possible use in an upcoming ,higher HP/TQ corvette.Guess we'll see.

I might be able to shed some light (or even hope) on this subject after the weekend.
I have a 2007 A6 and by tonight will have completed the following mods:
- Vararam CAI
- AR long tube headers
- Comp Cams camshaft
- 3000 stall converter
- 3.15 differential
The last two mods I think will probably be of most interest to you.
Once I get it tuned properly I'm expecting this thing to just fly. With the tune I'm expecting to have TM gone (or at least reduced) and also have the shift points set properly as Todd from RPM was kind enough to send over the necessary info to use for the tune.
I do realize that I am being a bit of a guinea pig with respect to the converter (since nobody is mass-marketing one yet) but I figure even if it doesn't work, I still have my factory converter to put back in if need be.
Feel free to send me a PM or e-mail if you have any questions.
3.15 & 3000 stall should be outrageous if it works. I have my doubts that the computers can handle the changes without some major tuning, and as far as I know, we ain't there yet.
I REALLY hope you prove me wrong, good luck. BTW, what brand tire do you use so I can go buy some stock.
Can't wait! Sounds like this monster will be..... well a MONSTER!
On the "tune" for trans shifts. I had my car tuned ('07, A6 w/paddle shifters) a couple of weeks ago and requested a faster and more positive shift for all gears (too "mushy" stock). Seems like he was able to as the TM is gone and shifts like a raped jungle animal (ape!). Not sure how this info can help but my tuner, Speed Incorporated is in Schaumburg, Illinois. He does great work and I will be discussing mods that I want done next season that are similar to yours, hence my anxiety to view your results. Good luck, have fun and be safe.

I have an A6 with 2800 Stall, stock gears, no TM and the shifts are firm, but at WOT the thing is mean, spins the tires from 1st to 2nd and catches a little between 2nd to 3rd. I highly recommend taking the TM out, beta version of HP Tuners does it and it shifts great.
