Default Electronic issues with my 2007

Hi All,

Below you'll find a list of issues that I provided to my dealer. The vehicle is at the dealer and items are being addressed. I took delivery of the Vett the last week of June 2007

I'm curious if any of you are having the same or similar problems with your new vehicle.

I have a very limited number of accessories on my 2007 Vett:
A coupe with the Z51 package, driver/passenger side airbags and a M/T. No other options on the vehicle.

Listed below is a punch list for the subject vehicle.

1. Driver’s seat is loose. If you adjust the seat and then accelerate you can feel the seat move/click. While breaking shift your weight forward on the seat and after coming to a complete stop accelerate you can feel the driver’s seat move. If feels like the seat is not securely fastened to the floor and the seat back does not lock in place.

2. Weather seal for the coup’s removable top is depressed.

3. Push the start button and nothing happens. Wait a minute and on second attempt vehicle will start. This has happened five or six times since I’ve taken delivery of the vehicle.

4. Depress both buttons simultaneously (for Driver’s and passengers’ windows) and there is a loud pop heard through the stereo speakers. This does not happen each time the buttons are depressed. It occurs infrequently.

5. During the day, when the vehicle is parked in the garage or when parked outside and a windshield sunvisor is used, a message on the LED display comes up “headlamps recommended.” This is displayed after starting the vehicle. It seems as the though the dash board sensor for the headlights is not working correctly.

That's all folks

Chuck

I don't know about the other problems, but it looks like your light sensor is working properly; its telling you it is seeing a decreased light level. You can't expect it to know why....

The seat problem is well known and usually requires a seat track replacement. I have not heard this with a new car though.
My C5 had it replaced twice, my C6 once.

The starter switch problem has been reported on this forum. A search here may help you get the poop on that one.

There is no fix for this, the dealer can't figure it out, good luck.

I must not be understanding the problem. You block the light by going in a garage or using a sun shield, and the car suggests headlights. Where exactly is the malfunction? If anything it sounds like a verification that everything works as it should.

Change the headlights to auto and you will never see that message again.

When I remove the visor or drive the car out of the garage into the bright sunlight I get the message on the LED display. THe only way the message stops is for me to turn off the motor and restart the car. The sensor will not adjust from the garage shade to daylight.

Hope that makes better sense.

#2. My weather seal is depressed over the passenger area for about 6 inches. But never leaks, even when spraying directly with the hose.

I have also felt my seat move, but rarely and barely.

I sympathize. Having been through much of this, you need to weigh how serious these defects are against the ability of your local dealer. How much (and how deep) do you really want your local guys tearing into your brand new car? I guarantee you they will induce additional problems if you allow them to get in to some of these.
Best of luck.

It keeps the recommendation until you acknowledge it. Just hit the reset button. I leave the lights on auto and they come on sometimes in the morning when I leave for work. It doesn't know the sun is coming out so I turn them off and get the headlights recommended msg. It'll stay on until you hit the reset button. All of 2 seconds for a great safety feature (auto lights).

If you have a manual trans, your start issue may stem from not depressing the clutch pedal fully each time you attempt to start - ask me how I know
