What headers should i buy?
I'm looking to do headers soon on my C6. There is a local shop that has a set of LG longtubes, with the X pipe and hiflow cats for $1700.
Just wonderd what headers you guys like best. And whats the avg price you guys pay for a set of headers , X pipe and hiflow cats?
This is for a 06 a6 with a Vararam and B&B route 66's, only other mod i may do is a mild cam.

I think the LGs are the best, as in they produce the most power and torque.
The price you are getting seems very good cuz they cost $1,895 from LG's site with the high flow cats.
If I were in the market for headers, I would get LG's if I had the money and American Racing if I was trying to save a couple hundred.

I really like my LG's. I'd do the cats just to eliminate the smell, plus, depending on your mufflers, no cats can cause your car to sound very "raspy." $1700 is a good deal as retail is $1900 and Corvetteforum then gets a $100 discount for $1800.
Go for it, it's an easy install, you can do it yourself. Make sure the kit includes the O2 extensions and all the right clamps.

$1700 for LG headers is a great price. Don't forget even with the $100 discount we get from LG, you still have to pay about $120 for shipping.

I went with American Racing headers. 1500 shipped to my door. Everything was there for the install which was pretty easy.

I am fine as wine, no you dont have to have cats in FL. I thinks it's best to have cats alot of dealers will frown upon you if you don't have cats.

I use American Racing, LG, and Kooks in the past; I prefer and have installed about 30 sets of the AR in the past year
The AR's is also the header of choice at ECS and Vette Doctors

Give Tom a call at TBryne. I got my Dynatec headers from him and at great price. They fit real good and I'm very happy with them.

That's a great price for the LG headers with cats. I'd stay with the cats even though some like to run without them. The smell without cats is terrible and only 2~4 hp loss at 6000 RPM doesn't make sense not to use them. I have the LG's with cats on my 07Z and they make excellent power and torque from mid range all the way to 7K. You won't be disappointed and yes, American Racing and KOOKS are excellent choices too.

That is a great price... but makes me wonder... are they indeed brand new?? Headers can be cleaned up and look new, but I would be curious how many miles have been put on the cats. Just something to be aware of.
