Just installed a new Hallteck SSM intake and the
filter part does not to be so stardy. It moves around when i
shake it? The question is does this seem normal. All the
parts are installed right. Also what HP gains should i expect at the dyno?
If it's like the Halltech Stinger that I had previously, there is only one clamp holding the filter to the air bridge. I doubt that it will come loose though.
I hope that is all there is to it. Please let us know how it works out. Good luck. I'm not sure about true HP gains, but you should see an apparent increase in responsiveness, due to better breathing.
The Stinger air filter unit just rests on the radiator shroad and doesn't move. You might want to get some fresh air in there by opening up both sides of the air dam behind the front grille. Just use gutter guard and do it yourself. Or buy the CAI unit for about $119 from the vendor on here. It does the job!
If you have any questions or concerns about your intake, call or email Jim at Halltech.
He is very responsive & extremely helpful....even on weekends.
I installed my Halltech Killer Bee last Saturday, and Jim was very quick to respond to my emails.
Thanks Jim!!!!
