Default Can A6 Be Upgaded?

Did a search and could not find anything. Was the changes made to the '08 A6 computer driven or mechanical? I have a '06 and would like faster crisper shifts when using paddles. Any help!

A little of both, but we're not talking astronomical type changes here either, from what I've heard the very minor changes are barely even detectable over the earlier 6L80s.
You can do some nice upgrades/updates to the some of the parameters of earlier A6s through programming/tuning software (HP Tuners, EFI Live etc.)

Default I would like to know too

Wondering if I can close the gap between my 07 and the 08s with the following. I am also curious if the mods listed below would violate my warranty.

1. Halltech C6 (LS2) Killer Bee™ AAIS Conversion Package - $600
2. Corsa sport exhaust - $1450
3. Tune - ?$200+
4. A6 "tune"? - can this be included with a typical tune now?

I have to give Halltech a call.

Bigear,
I just had my '07 A6 "tuned" for crisper more positive shifts about 2 weeks ago along with the "standard" speed tune. All I can say is It's awsome. You will however have to get used to the tires breaking loose much easier. Good luck!

I think that might be enough, the key there being the tune and how they handle the torque management situation. To me it's the TM that could be what keeps the 2008s from really shining in a straight line from a standing start....an LS2 with a CAI, a thermostat and that one area addressed could help close the gap against a bone stock LS3.

Give Chuck Cow a call, very knowledgeable Tuner. He will be tuning my 2006 A6, CAI, 160 stat, in late October.

Default Thanks!

I really appreciate all who responded. I am real freaky about anything that would void my gaureenty. Was hoping it was a simple plug and play!

Thanks again

You'll need more..unless the LS3 is modded. Then it's always going to be a "keep up with the LS3's"

Depends on how good a relationship you have with your service manager. When was the last time you took the SM to go play golf? What are you getting them for Xmas? (Booze is always good!)

The computer for the trans can be tuned independantly. Yes, it makes a big difference too!

You must give Chuck CoW a call about getting a tune. In a way, what he does is plugs in to your computer and then you go and play .
I am sure when you go to the dealer you won't say "i had a tune done". If you don't say it, they don't know it, even if they plug in. Worst it could happen is, they will flash you back to stock, but is ok because Chuck can flash the tune back in for free.

Even if you can't decide yet, just give him a call 914-332-0049 and ask him a few questions, you really have nothing to lose but the dime for the call and even that will be an investment towards your enjoyment of the car and having peace of mind.

Why are you paying $1450 for your Corsa Sport Exhaust?

Sugar is much better than "I'll just take my business elsewhere". Although I will if I have too.
