Default GM NAV VIDEO INPUT OFFER!!! please read

I just got off the phone with Nick from Precision Interface Electronics, in Chadsworth California. (PIE lol)
He told me that if someone were to show up with a c6 vette, factory nav, so they could test the UNI/NAV EYE2 in an actual Corvette, that the person showing up could possibly get, from what I gathered, either a smoking deal on the unit, or the demo one free.

I offered to do it on mine, but since it is 1800 miles one way, maybe someone from closer could swing over to do it? He said they would be of course allowed in the shop to supervise the guinea pig test.

This sounds like a great deal, answer to our problems of video integration. They have some real cool chit there.

Anyway, the Salesman's name is Nick, Tech is Ed, VP is Bill.
The website is http://www.pie.net/pie_store/shopexd.asp?id=636&bc=no
and the phone # is 800-526-8590

Oh yeah- the guy at the PIE store said Chadsworth CA is the world's **** Capital, if anyone is interested in that little tidbit LOL.

The screen according to the guys at PIE (lol I love that) and other reviews I have found online say that the screen is actually better than the portable DVD's, so no problem there.
This is not to use the internal DVD player for movie playback, but to give us an auxiliary input for, in my case, a camera.
For the whiners that cry about not wanting to be on the road with someone with a 'hacked' dvd, relax, this is not my intention at all. I just want to see what I am going to back into with the top up.

Please more info on this, how much is it, is it a DIY installation. Need that camera and this would be a great solution. Rediculous trying to backup in the C6 vert, never had this problem in the C5 vert.

Default more?

The install is in the head unit, you have to insert a ribbon cable. If no one in So Cal goes there, I am going to buy/get one, and do a DIY thread with pics, IF it works.

Call the 1-800# if you are close, they are helpful guys and they want to do this as much as we do.

A "ribon cable?"

Those have been outdated since the early 90's.
