Default C6 Newbie with problem

Recently purchase my first Vette a used C6 2005 Coupe auto. After driving about 2 hours I noticed alot of heat coming from the right side of the drivers seat and also notice that the console was retaining heat. I had my key and a few other items in the console and all the items were hot. Your thoughts, opinions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It's the heated console option that is standard on all Corvettes.

Note: Don't worry its normal (NO! its not an option!). If you do a search, you can find some remedies if it really bothers you.

The severity of the heat problem doesn't seem to be consistent. My 05 A4 coupe had a moderate amount of heat, but my 06 A6 seems to have slightly less.

Yeah, it has to do with the TQ tube and engine being so close. Seems the tube gives off a decent bit of heat

My 05 MN6 doesn't have an excessive heat problem.

I get a bit of heat from that area in my A6, but it's nothing to the level of the Viper I was in.That car is a frickin' oven.

From the OP he mentioned his keys in the console. If their your car key do not leave it there (console) ALWAYS keep it in your pocket. There have been way too many threads about people locking themselves out because of this!

Enjoy your car.

This problem is virtually non-existent with my '08 MN6 (MZ6) as well. The only time I have noticed that the driver's footwell was a bit warm was at stop lights with the roof out in 80 degree temperatures.

It's a free option, if you're running late for work in the morning, just make your omelette on the way there.

hmm, my 08 vert must be the high horsepower version because my console is burning hot. Better since the 160 stat though.
