When I start my 07' there is a static noise from the driver's speaker, the radio is off ?

 

i think its because the other sounds in the car run through that speaker

 

are you sure its the drivers speaker and not the front center console speaker - the "other car" sounds I "think" come from center front speaker and not the drivers side - it could be a loose wiring and/or a blown speaker/subwoofer... Have the dealer check it (should be covered in your warranty)

Edit: Just realized you stated its when the car starts - my 05 has a loose cover for the window mechanism (pastic piece between door panel and the actual glass that seals for water etc... it had a loose bolt that would cause the door to rattle when car was started and/or door was closed - may not even be the speaker that is causing it but then again you know how the "static" sounds and can be a better judge of its a speaker or a rattle...

 

My 08 has is also, minor static, I've heard it in others also, so I'm not stressed

 

I get that too as a routine when I start up. Here is a snippit I got from the forum (somewhere... ). I do not know if it is right, but it is all the info I have. If you find anything out more, let us know.

"Short in DIC

If you have an 07 built between 2-8-07 thru 3-15-07 the problem is in the DIC, and it is on back order.

Test: enter car and start WITHOUT fastening seat belt, if you hear a "pop" in your speakers your DIC needs to be replaced. If you fasten your seat belt and then start car and do not hear the pop you still need to have the DIC replaced. They are on National Backorder and affect about 1200 07 Vettes. This info is on the A6. I do not know if it pertains to the M6.

Do this test with the radio OFF.

No speaker POP when starting with the seat belt UNFASTENED.

This will be my first post. I picked up my vette April 10th and it does this. I had not thought anything of it.

What is the source of your information? Also, does this have any more significance other than the annoying sound right when the car starts?

Took it in for the problem. the dealer could not fix and called factory tech service. They confirmed the problem. I posted the results and I'm on the back order list. Problem can affect all DIC info and eventually make DIC info unoperable. It is basically a SHORT in the system."

Again, this is only for information purposes. I do not know how to confirm this.

 

Thats interesting, my car was built during that time but it has not shown that prob yet. Is it something that is there from day one or shows up later?

 

I have n 06, with the same issue......sounds to me like a blown speaker, since it only does it when its on...................most annoying!

Taking it to the dealer sometime this winter
