I have a question for you guys. This is my first Vette, I just picked it up last week. Well my brother took it out for awhile and called me with a problem. The car shifts into gear but does not move, when you take your foot off the clutch the car still stays on while it is in gear, but you can hear a clunking noise. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks!

I'd say he blew the rear end, what year is the car? FYI, the '05 was prone to breakage on hard launches, even newer models can fall victim to this. Maybe you should went along as shotgun!

Think about it if the engine is running and is in gear but all you hear is a clunking noise it isn't the clutch or it would not have gone easily in gear. It couldn't be one half shaft it must be the torque tube. The tube or it's conn must be damaged. Tow it to chevy and tell them it happened overnight while you where waxing it.
