Has anyone driven the 2008 paddle shifter automatic on the race track? What happens when you want a lower gear for engine braking and the computer isn't ready to downshift? Are the shifts up and down immediate or will I be surprised in a corner while at the race track? I would buy the manual, but I hate to miss an opportunity to get rid of the clutch in traffic. Thanks, Sam
Never tracked it, but experiment with spirited driving.
form my experience, the great thing about this tranny is:
1. will not down shift, and over rev, saftey feature
2. holds gears when in shift mode
3. about corners, will not shift unless you shift it via paddles.
4. only problem may be over heat on a track. I would change oil after 3 track events.
