Default My Temp Gauge is Posessed !!!!

I posted this in C6 gen , but I didnt get much , perhaps some of you savvy guys can help......

So I'm driving last night and all of a sudden my coolant temp guage dies , and the DIC reads Engine Hot/AC off (somthing like that) - The gauge is reading zero , all the way to the left , so I figure its BS .
I pull over , cars not hot ,plenty of coolant in the tank, engine oil temps fine. So I drove home and the next morning took it to my Vette shop - 40 minute drive and when I get one block away from the shop the friggin thing starts working perfect ( SON OF A BITCH !!! ) so I shoot the crap with them for a few and drive to work .....

TONIGHT IT HAPPENED AGAIN !! - And I know the same crap is gonna happen again , I just know it .....

Any ideas ??? Where does the temp gauge read from , is it somthing I can check for a loose connection ?

Demonic possession is rare, but not unheard of. You can either consult with a knowledgeable parish priest (preferably a Jesuit) about the advisability of an excorcism, or go to a dealer with a competent Corvette technician who owns a VOM in the event the problem turns out to be a bad ground connection and not a demon. Failing that, change the sending unit and if that doesn't work, the guage. Then get the car blessed with holy water and you should be fine.

Could be bad thermo....sticking open, not closed. If u were to remove the t-stat altogether the car would take too long to heat -up and the ecm will send the "engine hot" and gauge does not read.............ALL from too long a warm-up. Welcome to the new age of binary Couple years back I put a mezziere elec. pump on a C6Z and could not use the thermo they sent (would not fit) and could not use the stocker and guess what? And to think....I thought it was useless info in my head, I got a lot
