Default Vararam customer support

I will keep this short and to the point. I have had some issues with my Vararam, some my fault, and some not. And everytime I call these guys, they bend over backwards to make it right. Customer service seems to be a lost art at many companies, so it is refreshing to call them and hear, 'you are a valued customer, we will take care of your problem.' And once again, they did.

thanks

I am considering a VaraRam purchase for my 06. How do you like it now and did you notice any improvement in performance? Which model do you have?

I can tell you My Corvette is loving the cooler air being rammed into the engine.
When My Vette is happy, I hang on & enjoy.
Big performance difference especially with the cooler weather now.

Fly with Vararam.

I purchased the Vararam Snake Charmer for my 07 mn6 vette. What I like is at 50mph on a cool night, going WOT and knowing my engine is getting cold, outside air rammed down it's throttle body at 50 mph. I just feel good about that, period. But it does not fit like the stock unit and is DEFINITELY not a unit to forget about for 5000 miles. It requires regular checks of the gaskets, and for me, it required RTV on the gaskets to stop the constant shifting. Vararam helped me with all that till I felt I had it right. The radiator shroud that I had to cut does not look profesional to me. I would put a pre-cut shroud in but everyone says it is a real PITA to install.
Bottom line; I can live with all the above for those moments I go WOT and hear it sing and know the engine is receiving cold air under pressure. If you are all about a perfect fit and don't like to open your hood on a regular basis to inspect, clean, and generally tinker, you may want to look at a different unit.

This is exactly why there is no chance I would ever buy one. Acceptance of lackluster quality from a 350 dollar piece of plastic is something that will never happen from me.

Default Halltech

Would the Halltech be a better choice?

The Vararam has proven track gains. Can someone post a link to that Vette magazine article.

I gained 2.6 mph when I put my halltech venom on at the track. Yeah I put it on in the staging lanes between runs.

However, not a truly fair comparison as the temp dropped a few degrees during my first and second run and the car got more time to cool.

No way to really tell. Really it's just personal preference. K&N, Vararam, Halltech, LPE, Honker, etc.

All the gains are going to be so close, it's not worth arguing about. There are so many threads on these already, just read up a little and pick the one that sounds/looks the best to you.
