Get about 3 feet of 14 gauge single conductor copper wire for each shock to be removed. Leave the lower bolt in on the rear, you can take the nut off. On the front, leave the two lower mounting bolts loosely connected. Wrap the wire around the shock rod twice just above the dust boot, pull tight and twist 3 or 4 times. Pass the long end down under the stirrup on the rear or under the bushing on the front being careful not to include the brake line or the ABS electical connector. Now jack up the lower control arm until the weight of the car is off the jackstand. Give it about 15 seconds to compress completely. Now pull as much slack out as possible then twist the two ends of the wire using a linemans pliers to twist it nice and tight. Release the jack and when the control arm falls it will pull the upeer shock mount clear. Remove the lower connectors and take out the shock.
Always remove upper A Arms. Remember where the shims went. Some have them, some dont.
Before you remove the upper a-arms, compress the shock by using your floor jack to raise the lower a arm up (use a block of wood), when it is compressed about two inches, use long zip ties to hold the shock, then lower your jack and remove the upper.
