I'm jealous! I want to go with a cam but my wife says I have to wait until Xmas! Let us know when you get it installed

Got a question for you cam guys. My buddy has an LS1 camaro with G5X3, and true duels. When I get out of the car I smell like I've taken a bath in gasoline. Does your corvette do this or is it just in his tune. I know he is running catless. Would cats fix this? I am about to go with this cam and full exhaust but I don't want to smell like gas everytime I drive the car to dinner. Can someone jump in and give their experience!

Cats will definitely help that, at idle the narrow bands sometimes cause a "false lean" condition with cams with a lot of overlap that can make things worse. I love that LG cam though.

Your stock Valve Springs are the weak link in the OEM set-up.

Ensure you get:
Dual Springs
Cro-molly Push rods w/Titanium retainers

OE Rockers & Lifters are just fine

To really take advantage of thet monster Cam you'll heed:
CAI
FAST
LT Headers w/ high flow CATS (1 3/4 not 1 7/8 unless you intend to go Forced Ind)

I have that cam with LG headers (and lots of other stuff). I originally ran the high flow cats, but due to an upcoming tune and not having enough time to get a wideband bung welded in I removed the cats. With the high flow cats you get very little if any unburnt fuel smell. Without the cats it can be pretty bad. Not nearly as bad as my fbod, but those unfamiliar with high HP cars my be offended .

I have one and love it. The Cometic .040 gaskets increase compression to 11.4 and keep low end the same as bolt on as shown by my dyno sheet below. Some gas smell with cats but not bad, I daily drive mine. Fuel mileage in town dropped 2 mpg, highway is about the same.

My Charlie Williams mail order tune was spot on when I dynoed for spark and fuel and only needed a few self tweaks on driveability. It really runs like stock, never dies, always starts hot or cold. The LS2 computer is a joy to tune it is so fast compared to my experience with LS1 tuning.

Mine is whisper quiet through stock mufflers but loud as hell with the cutouts open.

No doubt-I'm getting all that piece by piece so the little woman won't b!tch too much, ordering the rest of the cam kit which includes springs, retainers and pushrods next week. Already have Halltech Stinger, LG Longtubes/no cats. Thought about the FAST-may still do it-gotta do some more research first.

After hearing that cam in person-DAM! Had to do it!

Mike Norris in Orlando is running a special, look in this section. About $4k for evrything mentioned give or take. Mike is a seasoned pro at this.
