I recently traded my wheels and tires with another forum member (thanks to Gold Z!!). Several days later, I've now got the TPMS Malfunction light flashing and error coming up on the DIC. I checked the tire pressure and all are at 30 lbs so I believe that the issue is the sensors aren't matched to the car.
Is there any way for me to reset the sensor without going to the dealer? Will a simple disconnect of the positive lead of the battery for a few minutes and reconnect have any hope of fixing this problem?
yes you can buy the tool or go to a tire shop that has it
There is no way to reset the TPMS without the correct tool (electronic box). So as suggested a trip to either the dealer or a tire shop is needed, or if you're lucky depending on where you live a member on here may do it for you. Heck, come to Montreal and I'll do it for free and buy you a beer to boot!
BTW, the entire process only take a minute or two to do.
