Lemon Laws are under State governance.
Check out your local State Gvoernment site.. if there is not a visible link, search for Lemon law.
GM uses BBB autoline as an arbitration service
When you deal with them ensure it is clear that you want it mediated under your State Lemon Law...
I spent 4 wasted months dealing on an issue with a 2004 SRX at the end Autoline, said GM believes it has no obligation....
I was stunned and asked, But doesn't my complaint fall under the Michigan Lemon Law? The advisor said Yes.
I asked under that Law isn't GM obligated to buy back a vehicle that has been out of service for over 30 days in the first year of warranty... he responded YES.
I asked why then was GM not obligated to buy back my vehicle? He said You did not formally request that this be arbitrated under the State lemon. !!!
I asked waht do I need to do fo rthat to happen. He said send me a registered letter witha copy to the manufacturer.
1 week later GM offered to exchange my '04 for an '05 straight up....
