I have seen this one time. It was one spoke on one wheel. The crack was on the spoke near the rim at the smallest cross section of the spoke. It was one of the 19" rear wheels. Wheel made a noise on turns. I do not know the root cause. Could have been a porous casting issue? Damaged wheel replaced and life goes on.
Other than the crack in the spoke, there was no other wheel or tire damage noted.

It's a common problem on the GM thin spokes from 2001-2004. My 2002 rear 18" rim had a crack. Dealer told me to pound sand, blamed it on the tire installer I used for new tires.
Never heard of it on C6 wheels. Maybe you just have a one-off problem. I hope your dealer treats you better than mine did.
Joe.....Tell us the name of the dealer that wouldn't honor the warrantee on your wheels. They should not get away with this. Forum members should be sticking together and should boycot these type of dealers. Let's hurt them in the pocket book--like they have been hurting us.
DeLillo Chev initally denied it as warranty because of a superficial nick in the rim, claiming the damage was due to a curb impact (which was non-sense). 3 weeks later, the area rep reviewed it and immediately warrantied it saying that they had seen this before in several wheels. The crack was mid spoke between the rim and hub and all the way thru the spoke,,it could have been a total wheel failure at speed. They of course took the wheel. It was a chrome factory wheel.
