60' Help
last night held the button for ~10 seconds and turned everything off.... ran MUCH better times
12.858 @ 113.94 and 13.040 @ 113.66... 60's were 2.170 and 2.321, respectively
only got two runs in and i know there's much room for improvement, but happy that i finally got into the 12s (where it should be).... i might go to a different track next time since Commerce has horrible track prep and it's at 1100ft above sea level.... does anybody know the website where you can input the track conditions and it will give you a normalized 1/4 time and mph??
for some reason, this time my windshield didn't fog up at all.... very odd...
oh and also added a vararam, which i'm sure added to the much better times.... can't wait to go back... but too bad they're closed for the season now...
/UPDATE
went to the track for the first time... and am very disappointed with my times/driving... ugh...
best 60' time i got was a 2.296.... i have stock runflats and the track conditions aren't ideal (those who are familiar with the track in commerce, ga should know what i'm talking about).... but i still feel that i should get better than that
.... any launching tips?first run i launched at ~2k rpm and spun all through first and halfway through second (this actually yielded my best 2.296 and 13.543... lol).... other times i actually bogged 1st gear trying not to spin out too much.... had a couple of 2.5 60' times in there somewhere too.... ugh
while i'm practicing driving... anything i should keep in mind?
60' - 2.296
330 - 6.022
1/8 - 8.959
1/8 mph - 83.55
1000 - 11.461
1/4 - 13.543
1/4 mph - 108.70
06 manual (non z51) with only and exhaust.
and to make matters worse... weather was perfect.... probably around 50 - 60 degrees outside
lastly... my windshield would get completely fogged up halfway through my run... what's that all about?? i had to drive with my window about a quarter of the way open to limit the fogging...

C6 1/4 mile performance challenge
lol.
Commerce is not a great track. My last car, a supercharge 350z with ET Streets did a best of about 13.7 there, and 12.8 down at Silver Dollar.
I left early friday night, about 8:30. I only like to get there early, do a few runs before it gets crowded, then watch a few and leave.

yeah commerce isn't a very friendly track... but i still thought i should've gotten better times. but i will admit that i've still got a lot of work ahead of me to get good launches...
i have a 350z as my other car too (currently trying to sell).... seems like a lot of 350z owners step up to the vette...
You'll get better with some better tires and practice.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

how was your climate control set? vents, a/c, heater, defrost, etc. etc.
everything was OFF. no defrost, no heater, no a/c....
With these cars it is about patience....you have to launch slowly and carefully to avoid the hop and wheelspin. It took me 22 runs in a row at a track rental at Atco to get a 1.70 60' time with 345 run flats. Let me clarify 2 runs at a time throughout the day. There were only about 8-10-cars racing. Track rentals are suprisingly cheap. it cost me 200 for the day and Cartek brought lunch and snacks
