Hey guys I have a noise when I shift from 1st to 2nd. It only happens when I give it a bit of throttle and then shift from 1-2. If I only run it up to about 2-3k before I shift, it sounds fine. Even when it makes the noise, it shifts just fine. There is no binding or problem going into gear. It is hard to describe the noise. It isn't really a grinding, but certainly isn't a whistle or whine (I know I am not helping much...)
I hear it when I put the clutch in to make the 1-2 shift. Doesn't do it in any other gear. Car has just over 1k miles on it. No leaks anywhere under the car.
Anyone experience a similar thing and any ideas what it could be?
I also sometimes get a weird feeling/noise when hitting the clutch. It only occurs in low RPM shifts for me in 1-2-3 though. And it only happens when I have my A/C on. Have you tried experimenting without the A/C on?
AC isn't causing it and it does it only when going from 1st to second and only if I shift at about 3k or above. It almost sounds as if it is a dragging (not grinding) sound. Is there a clutch adjustment. I am poisitive I am putting the clutch all the way in, also, I am surprised that it only does it from 1st to second. Thanks.
hey there...my car is starting to do the same thing i think...when i go to push the clutch in it starts to "whistle" or "whine"...i dont know what it is...anyone? the fluid was kind of low so i figured that might be it so i drained it and replaced it...pumped it to get the fluid moving..then tried to hear the noise, and it was still happening....if you let it sit at idle and lean out the car and tap the clutch it makes a horrible sound from underneath the bay..!!!! HeLP!!!

Got mine resolved. A/C compressor bearing. Dealer (Herb Chambers Danvers, MA) replaced it, parts and labor free of charge. These guys have been awesome. Find a good dealer and explain if you are not under warranty any longer.
